Why study Graphic Design?

Do you want to work and study at the point where art meets communication? This challenging course explores a variety of techniques including web design, UX / UI design and motion graphics and will teach you all the skills you will need to launch your career as a graphic designer.

What degree do I get and how long does it last?

Once the studies are finished, you will obtain the Portfolio Program Diploma in Art Direction or Copywriting from Miami Ad School and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Creative Enterprise of Solent University. The program is divided into three years:

FIRST YEAR: you will learn the essential knowledge about creativity at the Miami Ad School Madrid.

SECOND YEAR: you will have the possibility to travel and continue training in any of the Miami Ad School schools or in any of the companies with which we have agreements internationally during one or two quarters.

THIRD YEAR: you will study in Southampton (UK) at Solent University, where you will complete the Creative Enterprise specialization.

Where could you work?

Graduates in graphic design can seek employment in many different creative industries. From marketing and advertising to the production of print media, through web design and UX. All large companies require a team of talented designers to communicate properly with their clients and stakeholders. You can work as a designer in any company or as a freelance.

Tools

You will learn to use Adobe Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign and Premiere) and you will be able to take photographs, videos and animations at a professional level. Graphic design students are also encouraged to present their best work in design competitions, ensuring an exhibition of their work to the industry. Our students have won awards at international festivals as prestigious as the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) Student Design Awards, D&AD Awards or Young Creative Network (YCN) Awards.

Metodology

The Graphic Design course at Solent University pushes you to explore a wide variety of professional techniques and develop your own visual style. Throughout the course, you will create visual products for different print and digital media and learn theories and visual culture in the context of contemporary graphic design.

Your professional development is backed by a wide variety of high-end printing and design materials, including Vandercook printers, intaglio and screen printing and engraving presses. You will also have access to photo studios and dark rooms; a fully equipped workshop for metal and wood and Apple Mac computers with the latest Adobe Creative Suite software.
