What does an art director do?

Art directors are dreamers with an overflowing imagination.

Their job is to think of creative concepts and transform them into creative, attractive and effective visual pieces.

They work as a team with a copywriter, who will be in charge of writing the concepts, and use their day-to-day experience to create meaningful, entertaining and useful content for consumers. They are curious and observant by nature, in constant search of references, everything they live, hear and see inspires them, from the last series they have seen to a conversation on the bus.

What will you learn in the advertising and art direction course?

The course is practical and the class projects are real, you can even work on a real campaign and present your ideas to the client. Each course has a duration of 10 weeks and at the end of each of them you will have to hand in the projects you have created for your teacher to evaluate them.

You'll use design, typography, illustration and photography to create anything that can tell a story for a brand, product or service. Teaming up with a copywriter, you'll brainstorm and produce magazine ads, videos, websites, TV commercials, stock ... maybe even temporary tattoos. Be creative, have no limits and have fun with your work.

International school of creativity

Open your horizons by studying around the world and study in up to five different cities. Every city in which there is a Miami school has a special combination of people, places and energy. Simply choose where you want to experience with other creatives and students from around the world, we do the rest.

Internships around the world

The NoM.AD Program

After spending at least one year (4 quarters) at your base school, you can participate in the NoM.AD program. This program gives students the opportunity to work and learn in up to four other cities around the world.

Imagine client meetings in Atlanta, a photo shoot in Tokyo or brainstorming in New York. You'll work on the front lines and build your global network of professional contacts. Each quarter, we release a list of available opportunities to students. It's your gateway to the industry.

Portfolio Review

At the end of the program there is a Portfolio Review, where you will have the opportunity to show your portfolio to the most important creative directors in the industry and, the most exciting thing: listen to their feedback.
More than 30 agencies will come to a session where you will receive interviews and be able to showcase your work.

Step 1

Send us your information

Fill out the contract that you will find in the Admissions section and send it together with a copy of your ID card or passport, and a certificate of your last studies.

Step 2

Choose your program and start date

If you change your mind later, you can easily change your registration.

Step 3

Enrollment is as creative as the course

Show us who you are and how you think as a creative. Share with us examples of things you have created, or develop one of our creative exercises that you will find in the Admissions section. Finally, schedule a meeting to go over all the details with your Admission Advisor.

Review and submit

Make sure that all your information is correct and that you have paid the registration fee (300鈧), we will contact you soon!

Expert in Advertising Creativity

Once graduated, you have the possibility of doing up to 6 months of internships in Spanish agencies and companies thanks to our agreement with the European University Miguel de Cervantes, through which you can obtain the title of Expert in Advertising Creativity (as long as you have previously completed the internship and have an official university degree).

Paso 3 鈥 Ejercicios Creativos

M谩ndanos al menos cuatro ejemplos de cualquier expresi贸n creativa hechos por ti mismo. El trabajo puede ser de fotograf铆a, pintura, publicidad, relatos, ilustraciones, animaci贸n, escultura, dise帽os, etc. Queremos ver con qu茅 medios te sientes c贸modo trabajando. Si tienes un portfolio online, m谩ndanos el enlace.
Crea una marca de bebidas con botellas originales y divertidas. Ponle un nombre y describe el concepto. Crea 3 sabores diferentes y un dise帽o para cada uno adem谩s de un poster promocional para tu bebida.
Queremos que hagas dos dise帽os creativos juntando las palabras: 鈥減erro鈥 y 鈥渃oche鈥. Comb铆nalos, usa tu imaginaci贸n y ve m谩s all谩 para crear dos dise帽os que expresen estas dos ideas en una sola. 驴El formato? poster.

Queremos saber un poco m谩s de ti, por eso queremos tener una entrevista personal contigo, bien en la escuela o por Skype. Decide qu茅 es lo que mejor te viene y concertamos un d铆a y una hora.
